Left overs

The homeowner called and said she had bees flying all over the yard. We were out checking our other hives right then, so we couldn’t get to them until later. When I got there, I saw a small cluster of bees. What she saw was the main swarm moving off.  What I saw were the left overs. The swarm had sent out scouts and foragers. When they came back everyone had moved, so the clustered where the swarm had been. I shook them into a nuc and brought them home. I don’t think they will stay. The house is only 2 miles from where I live, I think the left overs will find the hive they came from and go back.
