Surprise, Surprise

I got a call from a woman who said she had bees in her hot tub, and asked if I could remove them. Of course I can I said.  Her husband had said he thought they had been there only a month or so. His wife had tried things she found on the internet to chase them away, and found they didn’t work. I opened it up and found a fairly large hive. As I started removing the panels of comb I realized they had built around the corner! This hive had been there for about 6 months. They were much bigger than I thought, surprise. Then they started getting into the inside of the empty spaces underneath the hot tub area.  It will take a while for them to leave.
