Several years ago we got a call about bees in the ceiling. We removed them and foamed the area. A mouse chewed through the foam and let more bees in.  As we pulled up to the address we were given my wife said, “we know this house.” Sure enough it was the same house.  We removed a piece of plywood that had been covering a bad spot in the ceiling and found a large hive.  The interesting thing was that the bees had moved on because of small hive beetle.  There wasn’t a single bee left in the hive.  That was a good thing, it had been raining all morning and we thought we would be dealing with 60,000 plus bees. We removed the comb and gave some to the homeowner.  He is a Special Ed teacher and wanted it to teach his kids about bees and nature.  We double foamed the area again and told the person they really needed to fix the ceiling.
